Why does the version matter for your health?
Huperzine A and memory medicines
Huperzine A, from the club moss Huperzia serrata, is on two of the three lists. It works on the same enzyme as donepezil, a prescription Alzheimer's medicine (MedlinePlus, Donepezil). Taking both may raise the risk of side effects, and it can also interact with anticholinergic drugs (MSKCC, Huperzia serrata).
